COMMUNICATION AND MEDIA STUDIES

Students learn how to observe the world around them, drawing directly from life to gain inspiration for characters and stories. They discover how to think creatively and develop ideas through multiple stages, focusing on character development, narrative and performance. They also learn fundamental 2D and 3D animation skills to bring their stories to life.

Communication straddles many aspects of life and work. In this course, students will develop understanding and skills in a number of areas - visual, written, multimedia and spoken and interpersonal communication and in researching and exploring communications.

Film and Television is aimed at students with a passion for cinema, television and moving image art forms, which they want to develop through filmmaking and critical thinking about film. Students will be exploring writing, image creation, managing and producing, and the theory and history of film and television while developing a deep understanding of the motion picture medium. Graduates acquire the knowledge and skills needed for a career in film or television.

Mass Communication revolves around delivering timely information to a wide audience anytime and anywhere, regardless of location restrictions. It encompasses a wide range of topics such as entertainment, news, branding activities, and public advice – that is repeated on magazines, television, newspapers, radio, online portals, and advertisements. The programme equips students with the skillsets required in managing, analysing, and strengthening communications in multiple areas such as interpersonal, public, and professional interactions.

Multimedia design is the art of integrating multiple forms of media. It is used in video games, information kiosks, websites and many other interactive applications. Graduates will use their skills in graphic design, animation and technology to create products.
