Abdullah joined Istituto Marangoni London in 2010, and since then he has been lecturing and leading various units on BA in Fashion Business, MA in Fashion & Luxury Brand Management, MA in Fashion Promotion and MA in Fashion Buying, and recently as Director of Education. Some of the subjects taught include: Economics, Finance, Big Data, Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Wealth Management, Strategy, Luxury Management, and Project Management. He has been involved in supervising Master Dissertations, and Undergraduate Business Plan projects. He taught in various UK Higher Education Institutions lecturing Corporate Finance on the Buying and Merchandising Programs in Westminster University and Wealth Management on the MBA in Luxury Brand Management in Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU). He has been lecturing on the Postgraduate programs and Executive MBA (EMBA) in the Fashion Business School (LCF) within the University of the Arts London for over five years.
Prior to teaching, Abdullah worked in the Investment Banking Financial services and Hedge funds working for Merrill Lynch, Bloomberg and MENA Capital. Abdullah obtained a BSc in Financial Studies from BAU (Lebanon) in 2001, an MSc in Financial Management from the University of East London (2003), an MPhil Upgrade from SOAS-University of London (2005), and a PGCert in Academic Practice from Manchester Metropolitan University
(MMU).
Abdullah is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) a member of the Chartered Institute of Financial Services (ISI), The Chartered Management Institute (CMI), and The National Skills Academy for Financial Services (NSAFS). His research Interests include Emerging markets, Microfinance in Retail, The interaction between Finance and Luxury, Wealth Management, Value chains, FinTech, Blockchain, and Big Data.
Sennait Ghebreab, expert in fashion brand development and buying with an extensive background knowledge of wholesale and luxury goods, currently works as a programme leader at Istituto Marangoni London, but she is also running her own consultancy business, providing services to Arab luxury retailers and some key Italian stores.
Sennait is an enthusiastic, well-organized and creative thinker with a strong passion for the Apparel, Fashion and Luxury industries, thanks to which she has gained a strong understanding of the fashion product in a wide perspective: not just for its positioning in the markets, but also for its pricing, improvement and development, in line with the international
market needs.
Sennait started her career in fashion 7 years ago in London. Her experience and expertise stem from time spent dealing with the buying and retailing dynamics of the main luxury markets and throughout her career she has successfully dealt with some of the most interesting UK fashion luxury brands (Burberry, Matthew Williamson, Pringle Of Scotland and Joseph) on the brands’ business development in EMEAA markets: Europe, Middle East, Asia and America
Kirsten Scott is Programme Leader for MA Fashion Design Womenswear, MA Fashion and Luxury Brand Management, MA Contemporary Fashion Buying and MA Fashion Promotion, Communication and Media at Istituto Marangoni.
Her background is in fashion, accessory and textile design, having worked as a designer and maker for over 30 years. She ran a successful own label business for many years, designing and producing bespoke pieces, as well as ready to wear collections that were sold in high profile stores throughout the USA and UK. She has also collaborated extensively with leading designers both in the UK and internationally.
Kirsten’s lecturing experience includes many years as a visiting tutor at the Royal College of Art and London College of Fashion (her alma mater). She was Head of Fashion at Kensington and Chelsea College, for 14 years. In 2012, Kirsten completed a PhD in Constructed Textiles at the Royal College of Art, focusing on the ethical sourcing of handcrafted textiles for the fashion industry through a development project initiative. Her research interests include the transformation and application of heritage craft techniques to contemporary fashion, alternative production models, design for/through development, ethical and sustainable fashion, handcrafted textiles and cultural appropriation in design. Currently she is working with a small team, exploring the potential of bark cloth – from the wild fig tree – for the luxury fashion market. In somewhat limited spare time, she works with artisans in Uganda on product development strategies in order support marginalized communities to engage in local and global trade, under the label Elsa Cappelli.
Katherine Boxall is Programme Leader Fashion Business Area Postgraduate Programmes Istituto Marangoni London School of Fashion and Design
After graduating in Design Management majoring in Fashion, Katherine went on to work in the advertising industry, account managing for Harvey Nichols, Oxo Tower, Schuh, BMW, Mercedes, Audi, and many other major blue chip and fast-moving consumer goods brands. She then progressed to global marketing communications with IBM, before moving into the higher education sector.
Katherine began her career in Education developing the award-winning Fashion Management & Marketing programme in London. After years of creating exciting curriculums and teaching in Fashion Business and Creative Business, Management and Marketing, Katherine developed the Business School for the Creative Industries, which was ranked No 7 Business School for Business, Management and Marketing in the Guardian League tables 2020/21.
Katherine has developed many new and innovative curriculums for other UK HEI’s as well as E-learn programmes for International HEI’s. As well as being external fashion adviser for a number of institutions globally has written articles on business practice and entrepreneurship.
She has been a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy since 2012.
