Criteria

  • Malaysian student
  • In general good health and condition
  • Neither parents are in the JPA blacklist and are not subjected to any legal actions by JPA
  • Not a recipient of any other financial sponsorship for studies
  • First-time SPM candidates, who have just undertaken the most recent SPM examination
  • Below 19 year-old in the year of the SPM examination
  • Scored at least A+/A in 5 subjects i.e. Bahasa Melayu, Matematik, Matematik Tambahan, Fizik and Kimia (Fizik and Kimia are not compulsory for students aiming for Social Science course)
  • Scored at least A- in Bahasa Inggeris and Sejarah subjects.

Highlights

  • JPA sponsorship i.e. all the study expenses, is actually provided in the form of a study loan (pinjaman boleh ubah) that student would have to repay upon graduation. The loan may be converted to a full/partial scholarship, depending on the recipient's employer upon graduation:
    • 0% loan repayment (full scholarship) if recipient is employed under civil service (Perkhidmatan Awam)
    • 25% loan repayment if recipient is employed under a GLC (government-linked corporation)
    • 50% loan repayment if recipient is employed by a private company in Malaysia

Details

This is an opportunity for all recent SPM candidates to receive financial sponsorship by JPA (Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam) in the form of Convertible Loan (Pinjaman Boleh Ubah) to undergo a special study programme in Japan, Korea, France or Germany. 

Application is open to students who have recently completed their SPM examination and would like to further their studies in the field of engineering, science and technology (S&T) and social sciences in Japan, Korea, France or Germany. Recipients will be sponsored to undertake preparatory courses before continuing their undergraduate studies (Diploma or Degree) overseas.

  • Applicants can check if they are shortlisted for further assessment
