Criteria

  1. Meet the minimum admission requirements (academic and English language proficiency) for the relevant research degree.

  2. High distinction average (H1 or First Class Honours) from a recognised university.

  3. Selection for the scholarship will be based on academic achievement for each discipline as determined by Monash University Malaysia.

Highlights

  1. The scholarships are tenable at Monash University Malaysia only, and are not transferable to Monash University Australia.

  2. As a scholarship recipient, you will need to maintain satisfactory academic progress. Failure to do so may result in your Scholarship being terminated.

  3. You must not be in receipt of any form of sponsorship from other sources. 

  4. Malaysian citizens or permanent residents may be required to contribute 10 hours/week in academic teaching and/or research training.

  5. International students must participate in Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS) or research support.

  6. Monash University Malaysia reserves the right to change the terms and conditions of the scholarships as and when required without prior notice.

  • Masters by Research - RM2,600/month (up to 24 months of candidature).

  • Doctor of Philosophy - RM2,600/month (up to 42 months of candidature).

Awarded for all postgraduate by research degrees (Master and PhD) in priority areas of research at Monash University Malaysia.

Application

  1. Applications are open throughout the year. Scholarships are limited and awarded on a competitive basis.

  2. Applicants must initiate course application process through the respective school.

  3. Selection for the scholarship will be based on academic achievement for each discipline as determined by Monash University Malaysia. 

  4. All applications consistent with the eligibility and selection criteria will be considered for a scholarship.
