Nature of the job

Your responsibility as a Field Supervisor relies heavily on the industry and organisation that you are working in. More common areas for Field Supervisors are industries which relies heavily on labour such as manufacturing, production and construction. Generally, field supervisors assist their managers to ensure that daily activities and processes comply with the standard operating procedures of the company. You will also be responsible for resolving operational issues and monitoring staff performance, working schedules, attendance and health and safety.  You are essentially the link between your subordinates and senior management and will be responsible for reporting team progress.

Strong leadership skills are a must as you will be leading a team to achieve targets and work within a given deadline. Problem solving skills are essential to resolve issues as they arise. Better Field Supervisors not only maintain employee productivity but also provide mentoring and coaching to improve productivity.
