Course Content
The Universiti Malaya Medical Programme (UMMP) is structured into five stages, each comprising specific courses and subjects. Below is the course structure and subjects for each stage:
Stage 1: Medical Sciences 1 (MIA 1001)
Block 1: Language in Medicine (8 weeks)
Block 2: Foundation (11 weeks)
Block 3: Musculoskeletal Sciences (6 weeks)
Block 4: Cardiovascular Sciences (6 weeks)
Block 5: Respiratory Sciences (7 weeks)
Stage 2: Medical Sciences 2 (MIA 2001)
Block 6: Haematology (5 weeks)
Block 7: Neurosciences, Vision, Behaviour (9 weeks)
Block 8: Endocrine, Nutrition and Sexual Health (9 weeks)
Block 9: Renal and Urology (5 weeks)
Block 10: Gastroenterology and Nutrition (6 weeks)
Block 11: Oncology and Palliative Care (4 weeks)
Stage 3.1: Practice of Clinical Medicine 1 (MIA 3001)

Additional Components
Elective Term: Conducted before Stage 3.2, allowing students to gain exposure in clinical, community, or research areas.
Pre-Internship Term (PRINT): Conducted at the end of Stage 3.3 to prepare students for internship.
Each stage integrates themes such as Basic and Clinical Sciences, Patient and Doctor, Population Medicine, and Personal and Professional Development. Students engage in lectures, theme sessions, problem-based learning (PBL), and clinical days throughout the program.
