Criteria

  • Only open to candidates who are classified as non-EU for tuition fee
    purposes.
  • Candidates have accepted an offer to study at University of Galway in the College of Science and Engineering
  • Applicants are assessed based on:
    • Academic Merit
    • Personal Scholarship Statement. (500 words maximum) covering the following points:
      • Your interest in coming to University of Galway.
      • Why you believe you are a good candidate for this scholarship.
      • How will you promote links with University of Galway, both during your scholarship tenure and as alumni?

Highlights

  • You may apply for more than one scholarship scheme if eligible to do so however should you be successful you will only be allowed to use one scholarship – that of greatest value to you. The University will only permit the use of one scholarship (a University of Galway Scholarship and an external Scholarship cannot be combined).

The College of Science and Engineering are awarding South East Asian Undergraduate student scholarships valued at €1,000 each

Currency conversion used for calculation: 1 EUR = 4.50 MYR 

Details

University of Galway is committed to attracting high calibre students from around the world. To this end, the University offers a range of merit based partial tuition fee waivers to eligible undergraduate students.

Application

  1. Apply to study at University of Galway. (Contact our UE Counsellor for assistance).
  2. If you are accepted, you will be issued an offer letter by University of Galway.
  3. Accept the study offer and pay an acceptance deposit; firm or conditional for one of the undergraduate or postgraduate taught masters’ programmes for entry to University of Galway.
  4. Proceed to apply using the International Scholarships online application form on the University of Galway website for ONE of the 2 rounds available:
    • Round 1 - Opened in February; open to all students that have accepted their offer on/before 28th March - round 1 awards close on Thursday 31st March.
    • Round 2 - Opens to all students on Friday 1st April up to Tuesday 31st May – round 2 awards close on Tuesday 31st May. 
  5. Candidates will be assessed and shortlisted scholarship recipients will be announced in early April (Round 1) or early June (Round 2).
