The RUMC Medical Scholarship is a selective award recognising academic excellence and professional potential, rather than a broad financial incentive. It is designed to support students who demonstrate not only strong academic capability, but also the personal attributes essential for medical training and future clinical practice.

What you get

Awards Details

Fee waiver amount are based on scholarship tier as follows:

  • Tier 1 – High Distinction: RM 40,000

  • Tier 2 – Merit Scholar: RM 30,000

  • Tier 3 – Performance Scholar: RM 20,000

  • Defined CGPA bands are used to determine a candidate’s potential scholarship tier (High Distinction, Merit, or Performance)

Founded in 1996 as Penang Medical College, RCSI & UCD Malaysia Campus is a specialist health- sciences institution jointly established by the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and University College Dublin. RUMC combines pre-clinical study in Dublin with clinical learning in Penang for its flagship medical degree. Graduates of the medicine programme receive the MB BCh BAO degree of the National University of Ireland, recognised by the Malaysian Medical Council and Irish Medical Council. RUMC became a foreign university branch campus in 2018 and remains the region's only Irish foreign branch campus.
