    • Sports Profile
      • Badminton, Cycling, Volleyball, Men’s Basketball, Men’s Football
    • Expected Athlete Profile
      • High-performing athlete: requires evidence of a high national/regional ranking, national league exposure or equivalent overseas
  • Individual and Team Sport Scholar
    • Sports Profile
      • All BUCS sports outside the performance team programme
    • Expected Athlete Profile
      • Level 1: Senior International, representing GB at world championship level in the last 12 months.
      • Level 2: Senior National or Junior International level.
      • Level 3: Junior National level
  • Talented Athlete Award
    • Sports Profile
      • All BUCS sports outside the performance team programme
    • Expected Athlete Profile
      • Athlete selected onto a regional NGB programme or evidence of competing within a county first team or high senior county ranking or equivalent overseas

Highlights

  • Scholarships and Discounts are not available to use against any maintenance costs, and no cash alternatives are available
  • Scholarships and Discounts are offered based on the Programme of study you state in your application. If after applying for a Scholarship, you choose to study on different Programme of study, the University cannot guarantee that you will receive the same Scholarship (or any Scholarship) for the new Programme you have chosen, and you will need to speak with the University if you no longer wish to study on the Programme
  • Students will be required upon written notice to repay all or part of their Scholarship or Discount in any of the following circumstances:
    • if the Student is found to have misrepresented his/her entitlement to the Scholarship;
    • if the Student is in breach of any obligations referred to in these Terms and Conditions;
    • if the Student Contract is terminated for any reason within 3 months of the start of the Programme, subject to any provisions relating to refunds in the Student Contract.

Tuition Fee

Fee waiver for the first year of study GBP 6,000 (MYR 32,640 - 1 GBP = MYR 5.44)

The Sports Scholarships cater for student athletes competing at a high county level up to senior internationals and studying an undergraduate, postgraduate or online degree

Application

Application Timeline

  • 31 January 2023 - application process opens for September 2023 starters. Please apply as soon as possible including your sporting reference.  An email will be sent to confirm your application has been received
  • 31 July 2023 - undergraduate and postgraduate deadline for all scholarship applications
  • 1 August to 31 August 2023 - Clearing scholarship applications
