Criteria

  1. The awards and bursaries are open to all nationalities who sat for the relevant examinations and they must be new or commencing students of the programme of study.
  2. Students must meet one of the following educational requirements:
    1. STPM: CGPA 2.5 and above
    2. A-Levels: 1A
    3. UEC: 3A
    4. Diploma: CGPA 3.5 and above

Highlights

  1. This Merit Award is based on the higher of the forecast, trial, or the actual results.
  2. Applicants are required to register as a DISTED student and pay both the application fee and registration fee to be eligible to submit a  Merit Award application.
  3. The application closing date is seven (7) calendar days after the programme commencement date. Late applications will not be accepted.
  4. In order to continue to receive their Degree Merit Award, recipients of an award up to RM7,000 are required to maintain a minimum CGPA of 2.50 (or equivalent); recipients of higher Degree Merit Awards must maintain a minimum CGPA 3.00 (or equivalent) throughout their duration of study.
  5. Degree Merit Award recipients receiving an award of RM8,000 are required to serve 20 hours per semester in various administrative roles, including acting as an ambassador of DISTED College at various events in order to continue their award in subsequent semesters.
  6. Only shortlisted candidates will be notified via email for an interview (where applicable). Only successful candidates will be notified within fourteen (14) calendar days after the interview.
  7. Candidates must confirm their acceptance of the scholarship within seven (7) calendar days, failing which, it will be automatically withdrawn.

Tuition Fee

Up to RM8,000 waiver off first year tuition fees. 

All awards and bursaries are only tenable for the period of study at DISTED in Penang. In the event a student is qualified for more than one award, the higher award will be given.

Application

  1. The application form is available at the Front Office, Admissions & Records Office, and the Scholarship Unit of the college.
  2. The application closing date is 10 working days from the programme commencement date. Late applications will not be accepted.
  3. Only results which have a validity of 2 years or less will be recognized for any scholarship application to DISTED College.
  4. The awards and bursaries will take effect only after the signing of the scholarship and bursary award agreement.
