Requirements

Applicant must meet the following requirements to be eligible:

  • Be an international student from Southeast Asia and North Asia
  • Not an Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen or permanent resident of Australia. If your visa status changes to one of these during the study period, the scholarship will discontinue
  • Commence a new program of study in 2026 for the first time
  • Be applying to study in a CRICOS registered undergraduate or postgraduate degree program
  • Satisfy the academic eligibility requirements for either the $5,000 or $10,000 multi-year scholarship
  • Satisfy all other admission requirements and accept their Offer of Admission letter.
  • Not applicable for are a study abroad or an exchange student coming to the University
  • Not eligible if students are granted more than 160 credit points in advanced standing for undergraduate degree program or 80 credit points for postgraduate program. (Note: In the event of advanced standing, the scholarship will apply to the reduced duration of the program and will not exceed the annual value of the scholarship in any one year of full-time study)
  • Not eligible for a students who study less than 80 credit points to complete the program
  • Not eligible is students are applying to study a program located at Sydney City campus
  • Not applicable if students have been awarded another scholarship by the University or another organisation that covers the cost of the tuition fees (fully or partially) to study at Western Sydney University.

  • AUD $5,000 or AUD $10,000 per year fee waiver (to be determined by the university based on academic achievement of previous stuidies)
  • Up to 240 credit points or three years maximum for Undergraduate
  • Up to 160 credits points and the maximum scholarship duration is two years for Postgraduate
