Postgraduate Coursework

Requirements

  • Must be an international student
  • Must have applied for but not yet commenced a bachelor’s degree or a coursework master’s degree that is a CRICOS registered award program usually delivered onshore at the University of Sydney
  • Must receive an unconditional offer of admission by the relevant close date.
  • Recipients of scholarships provided by the Australian Government are not eligible.

Awards Details

  • Five scholarship amounts are offered based on ranking against selection criteria (to be selected by University of Sydney):
    • AUD $60,000 payable for one year in two equal instalments per semester
    • AUD $40,000 payable for one year in two equal instalments per semester
    • AUD $20,000 payable for one semester
    • AUD $10,000 payable for one semester
    • AUD $5,000 payable for one semester
  • Students who receive a Sydney International Student Award can only receive a VCIS to the maximum value of $40,000.

Postgraduate Coursework

Requirements

  • Must be an international student (Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines,Vietnam, etc)
  • Hold citizenship in one of the eligible countries or regions (Proof of residency will be required)
  • Receive admission into a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree
  • Not be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia
  • Not have already started a degree at the University of Sydney at the time of application (except if applying for a second degree)
  • This award is not available for the Master of Business Administration (MBA), Executive MBA (EMBA), study abroad, executive education programs, or courses offered in distance mode or to students participating in a Law Dual Degree pathway program.
  • Complete a personal statement as part of the application process for admission to an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree

Awards Details

  • Award recipients will receive a 20 percent contribution of their tuition fee from the University for the duration of their course
