The University of Nottingham Malaysia (UNM), established in 2000, is the first overseas campus of the University of Nottingham in the UK. Relocated in 2005 to a purpose-built 125-acre campus in Semenyih, Selangor, about 30 km south of Kuala Lumpur, it offers a vibrant and modern learning environment. UNM provides foundation, undergraduate, and postgraduate programmes across three main faculties — Arts and Social Sciences, Engineering, and Science — with all teaching conducted in English. Degrees awarded are identical to those from the UK campus, ensuring global recognition. The campus hosts around 4,000–5,000 students from diverse backgrounds and employs approximately 700 staff members. It features comprehensive facilities including residential halls, a library, sports complexes, shops, and food outlets, along with free shuttle services to nearby areas. UNM is accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and professional bodies such as the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), and has earned a 5-star rating for research excellence under Malaysia’s MyRA assessment.
