This scholarship provides a tuition fee waiver for postgraduate students
The Postgraduate High Fliers Scholarship is available to international students enrolling in a Master’s by Coursework programme at the University of Birmingham (UoB).

Requirements
- You must apply for and receive an offer to study a taught Masters degree at the University of Birmingham (UK campus) starting in September 2026.
- You must be domiciled in one of the selected countries listed below.
- You must be classified as an overseas fee payer for tuition purposes by the University.
- You must start your studies in September 2026 on a full-time programme delivered at the University’s UK campus.
- Students in receipt of a full or partial tuition fee scholarship from an external organisation are not eligible. If the University becomes aware that a student is sponsored by a third-party organisation (i.e. an organisation is providing a full or partial scholarship covering tuition fees), the student will be disqualified from receiving the Postgraduate High Fliers Scholarship. If the scholarship has already been awarded, it will be withdrawn. Please ensure you accurately declare your funding source during enrolment.
- Open to all nationalities but must be living in (domiciled) one of the following countries:
- Argentina, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Cameroon, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Egypt, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Iran, Ivory Coast, Jamaica, Kenya, Malaysia, Mauritius, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Senegal, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Thailand, Trinidad & Tobago, Turkey, Uganda, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Vietnam, Zambia, Zimbabwe.

- By accepting this scholarship, awardees are expected to reasonably support the University by providing profiles, testimonials, and participating in ambassadorial activities if requested.
- In any of the circumstances set out below the Postgraduate High Fliers Scholarship will be withdrawn and you will receive no (or no further) payments from the University:
- If you permanently leave the University due to illness (whether or not following a Leave of Absence under the University’s Code of Practice on Leave of Absence procedures);
- If you leave the University voluntarily for reasons other than illness;
- If you are required to withdraw from the University due to disciplinary or fitness to practise proceedings;
- If you fail to complete satisfactorily the requirements of your programme;
- If you void any of the eligibility criteria of the scholarship.

Tuition fee waiver of GBP 5,000 for the first year only
This scholarship is only applicable to full postgraduate taught 180-credit Masters degrees, ineligible courses include:
- Programmes delivered exclusively through distance learning
- MA/MSc by Research
- MRes (combined taught and research)
- Undergraduate Integrated Masters degrees (such as MSci, MEng, MPharm and MBChB etc.)
- Intercalated Masters degrees
- MPhil, MMus, and MLit
- Postgraduate Diplomas (PGDip)
- Postgraduate Certificates (PGCert)
- Postgraduate Research programmes (such as PhDs, PhDs with integrated study, EngD)
- Postgraduate taught degrees that receive governmental funding (such as a NHS bursary or undergraduate tuition fee loans)
- Schools Direct programmes
- Subject Knowledge Enhancement (SKE) courses
- LLB for Graduates
- Initial Teacher Education PGCE (QTS) programmes
- All top-up programmes
