The John Orr Award is offered by the School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures to support research in any romance literature, language, or dialect

How to qualify

Requirements

Applicant must meet the following requirements to be eligible:

  • New applicants who have applied for admission to a postgraduate taught Masters or Masters by Research degree programme of study in Romance literature, language or dialect.
  • Preference may be given to those working in language studies: we can typically supervise research in French, Spanish, Portuguese, Catalan, and Italian.
  • Applicants must have, or expect to obtain, the equivalent of a UK first class or 2:1 Honours degree at undergraduate level and/or masters level.
  • Applications will be considered from UK/Overseas applicants wishing to study full-time or part-time programmes.
