This scholarship provides tuition fee waiver for postgraduate taught international and home students.
The Higgs Scholarships are prestigious, merit-based master's awards offered by the School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Edinburgh to outstanding new UK and international applicants for the 2026-2027 academic session.

- Applicants must have applied to study full-time on one of the following Masters Programmes of study commencing in academic year 2026-2027:
- MSc Theoretical Physics
- MSc Mathematical Physics
- MSc Particle and Nuclear Physics
- MSc in Astrobiology and Planetary Sciences
- Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic merit. Financial need may also be considered, especially where the award of a Scholarship will be key for enabling a student to take up the offer of a place on our MSc programme.
- The scholarship deadline will be 23:59 (UK Time) on Monday 1st June 2026.
