This scholarship provides tuition fee waiver for postgraduate taught international and home students.
The Bedford Society Scholarships are prestigious financial awards funded by alumni and friends of Bedford College to support high-achieving postgraduate students across various academic departments at Royal Holloway.
Requirements

- Offer to study a Masters degree within: Department of Classics, Department of Earth Sciences, Department of Economics, Department of English, Department of Geography, Department of Health Studies, Department of History, Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures, Department of Law and Criminology, Department of Mathematics, Department of Physics, Department of Politics, International Relations and Philosophy, Department of Psychology, Department of Social Work
- Achieved, or on target to achieve, a First Class Honours degree or equivalent
- Meet all the conditions associated with their academic offer in time to enroll at Royal Holloway
- Be registering as a new first year student when applying for postgraduate degree
- Students must not hold more than one University scholarship unless explicitly allowed in the scholarship terms
- Students must not receive external fee funding that fully covers their tuition fees
- You must provide a supporting statement of no more than 400 words (please note that statements that exceed the word count will automatically be rejected), outlining why you should receive the scholarship. You should include:
- Academic achievements you are particularly proud of and why they are important to you
- Reasons for choosing the degree programme you have applied for
- Your future aspirations and how the scholarship will help you achieve them
- Demonstration of an enthusiastic and authentic spirit of enquiry and how the scholarship will help you share and advance knowledge for future generations
- Your statement will be judged on how effectively and convincingly you respond to the above.
- The deadline to apply for this scholarship is 11.59pm (UK time) on Monday 15 June.

- Scholars may be asked to participate in promotional activities, interviews, photography, or filming, with prior consent requested
- Scholars may be asked to produce a student profile for Royal Holloway marketing materials
- Donor-funded scholarship recipients may need to write thank-you letters, provide updates, meet donors, and agree to share final classifications
- If a student changes course or mode of study, their scholarship eligibility will be reviewed and may be withdrawn
- The scholarship offer will be withdrawn if a student does not successfully progress to the next year of study at any point during a multi-year scholarship
