This scholarship provides a tuition fee reduction for eligible high-achieving postgraduate taught students across selected faculties.
The Master’s Excellence Scholarship is a merit-based award for high-achieving students applying to full-time taught Master’s programmes at Lancaster University. It recognises strong academic performance at undergraduate level and is automatically assessed during the admissions process for eligible applicants.

Requirements
- Hold or be on track to achieve an undergraduate degree at the required academic level (typically First or equivalent, depending on faculty)
- Apply for a full-time taught Master’s programme at Lancaster University for 2026 entry
- Hold a conditional or unconditional offer for an eligible programme
- Be classified as a Home or International fee-paying student (depending on programme eligibility)
- Not be fully funded by an external sponsor covering tuition fees
- Applicable only to eligible full-time on-campus taught Master’s programmes
- Applicants applying from the Lancaster University International Study Centre Pre-Master's programmes are not eligible for this scholarship.
- Applicants to MBA programmes are not eligible for this scholarship
- This scholarship cannot be combined with the International Regional Scholarship – Postgraduate.

Awards Details
Scholarship value varies by faculty & academic performance. Fee waiver details by each faculty are as follows:
- Management School:
- International fee-payers: up to 20% of your programme fee.
- Home fee payers: up to 30% of your programme fee.
- Science and Technology: up to 30% of your programme fee.
- Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences: 20% of your programme fee.
- Health and Medicine: 25% of your programme fee
