The Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship celebrates and welcomes international students to the University of Otago, and is awarded to support students to pursue their academic goals.

Applicant must meet the following requirements:
- Academic potential, as demonstrated by programme admission;
- Applicants must be enrolling in full-time undergraduate degree-level study; or in an approved foundation diploma programme, with the objective of progressing into an undergraduate degree
- Applicants must be intending to study at the University of Otago from 100-level (first year) through to degree attainment;
- Applicants will be studying on campus throughout the duration of their studies.

- Recipients agree to reasonable requests from the University of Otago to appropriately represent the University and the scholarship.
- If called on to do so, recipients of the University of Otago Performance or Callis Trust Performance Entrance Scholarships shall engage with the relevant University of Otago sporting club and give due consideration to playing for that club in preference to any other.
- Recipients of the University of Otago Performance or Callis Trust Performance Entrance Scholarships are required to communicate with the Manager, Entrance Scholarships in each year of tenure, reporting any performance activities.
- Unless an exception is specified, this scholarship may not be held at the same time as another University of Otago - Ōtākou Whakaihu Waka Undergraduate Entrance Scholarship (UES). If a recipient is awarded another UES, the recipient will normally receive the scholarship of the highest value.

Awards Details
- The value of the scholarship is $10,000 with a one-year tenure.
- Payment of the scholarship will be made as a credit towards tuition fees only.
- For those commencing study in semester 2 (July), half the scholarship funds ($5,000) will be released as a credit towards tuition fees, with the other half being released in semester 1 (February) of the following year.
