This scholarship is awarded to Southeast Asian students.
This scholarship supports international students with strong academic abilities from Southeast Asia.

Requirements
Applicant must meet the following requirements:
- Applicants must be new full-fee paying international students intending to enrol in either an undergraduate or a postgraduate programme at the University.
- Applicants must be citizens of Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand or Vietnam.
- Applicants must have a current and valid conditional or unconditional offer to study an eligible programme.
- Applicants cannot be previous University of Canterbury students. This includes those who are applying for a higher level programme
- This scholarship cannot be held concurrently with the UC International First Year Scholarship.
- This scholarship cannot be held by students who studies are being fully sponsored by either a home government or the New Zealand Government
- In making the recommendations, the selection committee gives consideration to:
- student’s academic achievement;
- strategic objectives of the University.

- By accepting the award, recipients indicate that they are willing to agree to appropriate publicity requests from the University of Canterbury to represent the university and the scholarship.
- Recipients with a valid conditional offer of place must make a reasonable effort to meet the English Language condition (if any) of their conditional offer within one month of accepting the scholarship.
- The scholarship may be withdrawn, and any paid funds may be recovered if, during tenure, the recipient does not:
- maintain an enrolment that meets the conditions specified;
- maintain satisfactory academic engagement; and
- adhere to the University’s statutes, regulations, policies, and rules

- The scholarship provides tuition fee assistance at a value of :-
- Undergraduate programmes : NZD $5,000
- Postgraduate programmes : NZD $10,000
- The scholarship is paid directly to a recipient's University fees account.
