HOPE Bursary is awarded to deserving candidates who require financial aid to pursue higher education

How to qualify

Requirements

  • Malaysian students with family income below RM60,000 per annum (below RM5,000/month).
  • Shortlisted candidates are required to attend an interview.
Things you should be aware of

Highlights

  • The scholarship application deadline, along with the submission of all required documents, is set at two (2) weeks after the start of each semester
  • Successful recipients are required to maintain a minimum CGPA 3.00 (or equivalent) throughout their study to maintain their bursary. 
  • Only successful candidates will be notified via email within two (2) weeks after the interview. Successful applicants must confirm their acceptance of the bursary by registration within two (2) weeks, failing which it will be automatically withdrawn.
  • To maintain the same Tuition Fee Waiver in the next semester, the scholars must pass all the subjects enrolled in the current semester at the first attempt.
  • All scholarships / bursaries / discounts are awarded on a first come, first served basis.
  • Applicants are entitled to only ONE (1) scholarship / bursary / discount stated in this booklet at any one time, including scholarship from other institutions / bodies. The one with the highest quantum will automatically apply.
  • All academic results must be obtained within one seating in order to be eligible for application for any scholarship / bursary / discount.
  • Scholarship will be deducted from the 2nd semester onwards if application is successful
  • All scholarship recipients who receive a scholarship / bursary / discount value of > 30% of the tuition fee are required to undergo a Student Ambassador program of 48 hours per year during the duration of their scholarship, which includes working with different departments within UOW Malaysia for enhanced exposure, acting as an Ambassador of UOW Malaysia at various events, attending leadership development programs etc, in order to continue their scholarship in subsequent semester(s).

UOW Malaysia is part of the University of Wollongong Australia’s global network, but has a long history of providing accessible, quality, tertiary education to Malaysia, and the surrounding regions, as it was previously known as KDU college and university colleges.
