This scholarship offers a tuition fee waiver to alumni and family members

In recognition that UOW Malaysia is part of the University of Wollongong global network of institutions, tuition discounts are available for alumni of UOW Malaysia, alumni of UOW programs completed at another UOW campus or partner institution, and their family member to study in UOW Malaysia.

Alumni Discount

  • 10% waiver of tuition fees for alumni to continue their studies to Bachelor Degree after their Pre-University / Foundation / Diploma Programs or continue their Postgraduate after their Bachelor's Degree.
  • 10% waiver of tuition fees for Alumni’s children to study Pre-University / Foundation / Diploma / Degree or Postgraduate programmes.

Family Discount

  • Applicable programmes: Pre-University, Foundation, Diploma and Bachelor Degree.
  • 10% waiver on tuition fee for subsequent family member if the first family member has completed, or is still studying at UOW Malaysia.
Things you should be aware of

Highlights

  • Successful recipients are required to maintain a minimum CGPA of 2.75 (or equivalent) throughout their duration of study in order to maintain the discount.
  • The discount is applicable for the year of enrolment

UOW Malaysia is part of the University of Wollongong Australia’s global network, but has a long history of providing accessible, quality, tertiary education to Malaysia, and the surrounding regions, as it was previously known as KDU college and university colleges. UOW Global Enterprises, a wholly-owned subsidiary of University of Wollongong Australia, in September 2019 acquired the KDU institutions and following a process of transformation integrated them into the University of Wollongong Australia global network of campuses located in Australia, Dubai, Hong Kong, and now here in Malaysia.

Subsequently, in November 2019, the name of the college and university colleges were changed to reflect the stewardship of the University of Wollongong and they are now known as UOW Malaysia. UOW plans to develop the UOW Malaysia campuses at Glenmarie, George Town Penang, and Batu Kawan Penang into universities within the next five to seven years. Both university colleges offer a full spectrum of programs, within a contemporary learning environment utilizing state-of-the-art facilities, from Foundation through to Bachelor’s Degrees and Postgraduate programs. These include programs in Business, Communication, Creative Arts, Computing, Game Development, Engineering, Hospitality, Tourism, Culinary Arts, and Nursing.
