The International Excellence Scholarship 2026 has been established to attract high-performing students to study at the University of Newcastle. This scholarship acknowledges applicants with a strong academic background and provides an ongoing incentive for continued academic achievement.

Requirements
- Be an international full fee-paying student
- Be commencing study in an eligible CRICOS-registered undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree program at the University
- Not be the beneficiary of a separate University scholarship unless prior approval for special dispensation has been obtained from the University
- Be able to meet the financial obligations of a full fee-paying international student specified by the Australian Government
- Not applicable to the following programs:
- Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (Honours) – all streams
- Bachelor of Medical Science / Doctor of Medicine
- Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics (Honours)
- Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours)
- Bachelor of Oral Health Therapy
- Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours)
- Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours)
- Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Honours)
- Graduate Certificate in Human and Social Services
- Master of Social Work (Qualifying)

- Must pay tuition fees on time and remain compliant with visa conditions
- Must maintain international student status
- Must maintain a GPA of at least 4.0 (pass grade); scholarship may be cancelled or reassessed if not maintained
- Recipients may be required to participate in marketing activities and agree to use of their image/testimonial
- The recipient must be involved in promotional activity arranged by the University
- Recipients consent for their image and/or testimonial to be used for promotional purposes

Fee waivers details are as follows:
- Annual Scholarship Value: A dollar value equivalent to 20% of the gross annual international tuition fee
- Unit Value (based on 10 units): Variable based on program of study
