Applicant must meet the following minimum academic requirements:

• A-level: ABB, excluding General Studies
• IB: 32 points and above (6, 6, 6 at Higher Level)
• STPM: ABB, excluding General Studies (A-minus will not be considered as equivalent to an A)
• UEC: 3As and 2B3s, excluding Chinese and Malay language
• SACE/WACE: ATAR 89
• MUFFY: 80%
• CPU: 81%
• Foundation: CGPA 3.45
• British-based Foundation programmes: 63%
• Diploma (not eligible if transferring with credit exemption): CGPA 3.45 

General criteria

Grades obtained in religion, general studies, physical education, and subjects which are not taken into consideration for a programme are generally excluded.

Where a programme requires a specific subject grade equivalent to A level, you will be asked to achieve a particular grade at a similar level. 

Grade A- or B-* will not be considered when grade A or *B is required as part of the criteria.

• Faculty of Science and Engineering
• Departments of Science and Engineering: to include Mathematics & Physics (Chemistry for Chemical Engineering) as part of the General Criteria
• Department of Civil Engineering: to include mathematics and physics as part of the General Criteria
• Department of Mechanical, Materials, and Manufacturing Engineering: to include to include Mathematics as part of the General Criteria
• School of Computer Science: to include Mathematics as part of the General Criteria. 
• School of Biosciences: to include Chemistry or Biology as part of the General Criteria
  
   
• School of Pharmacy
• Bachelor of Science with Honours Biomedical Sciences: to include Chemistry or Biology as part of the General Criteria
• BSc in Pharmaceutical & Health Sciences: to include Chemistry or Biology as part of the General Criteria
• MPharm Pharmacy: to include Chemistry as part of the General Criteria ─ Only applies to the portion of studies in Malaysia
  
   
• Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences: Non-academic subjects or General studies will not be considered
