Criteria

  • Malaysian Bumiputera students only, in which either one of the parents are of Bumiputera/Malay descent
  • In general good health and condition
  • Neither parents are in the JPA blacklist and are not subjected to any legal actions by JPA
  • Not a recipient of any other financial sponsorship for studies
  • First-time SPM candidates, who have just undertaken the most recent SPM examination
  • Below 19 year-old in the year of the SPM examination.
  • Scored at least A+/A in 5 subjects i.e. Bahasa Melayu, Matematik, and 3 other subjects depending on the selected field of study
  • Scored at least A+/A in 6 subjects i.e. Bahasa Melayu, Matematik, Matematik Tambahan, Fizik, Biologi and Kimia for Medicine course
  • Scored at least A- in Bahasa Inggeris and Sejarah

Highlights

  • This scholarship is in our list of top 10 full malaysian scholarships to study overseas.
  • JPA sponsorship i.e. all the study expenses, is actually provided in the form of a study loan (pinjaman boleh ubah) that student would have to repay upon graduation. The loan may be converted to a full/partial scholarship, depending on the recipient's employer upon graduation:
    • 0% loan repayment (full scholarship) if recipient is employed under civil service (Perkhidmatan Awam)
    • 25% loan repayment if recipient is employed under a GLC (government-linked corporation)
    • 50% loan repayment if recipient is employed by a private company in Malaysia

Details

This is an opportunity for all recent Bumiputera SPM candidates to receive financial sponsorship by JPA (Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam) in the form of Convertible Loan (Pinjaman Boleh Ubah) to undergo a special study programme consisting of Pre-U studies followed by degree studies in Japan, New Zealand, United Kingdom, United States or India.
