Criteria

  • A citizen of either Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam or Philippines.
  • 27 years old and below
  • Applicants with minimum of 1 full academic year remaining i.e. existing or newly enrolling into a degree/masters programme in a field relevant to a career in the banking industry. (This includes applicants, who are expecting acceptance from a reputable university for their studies. In this case, note that applicants must possess an unconditional offer by the time the scholarship is awarded.)
  • In possession of an excellent academic track record and active in curricular activities.
  • Non-recipients of any other scholarship or grant, with a contractual obligation on the part of the applicant.

Highlights

  • This scholarship is in our list of top 10 full malaysian scholarships to study overseas.
  • You will be bonded with CIMB Group – one year for every year of study locally (candidate’s home country), and two years for every year of study outside the candidate’s home country.
  • If you fail to complete the programme or fail to obtain the education qualification, you will need to reimburse all expenditure borne by CIMB Group.

The CIMB ASEAN Scholarship is a highly selective, full scholarship for exceptional students from ASEAN countries in which CIMB has a presence. We are looking for individuals fuelled to go beyond the ordinary.

In recognising the evolving nature of the banking industry, CIMB welcomes applicants from a wide variety of academic disciplines. We have previously sponsored applicants studying Computer Science, Data Science and Psychology, apart from degrees traditionally associated with a career in banking. For example, Accounting, Economics, Finance.
