This scholarship provides tuition fee waiver for postgraduate students
The Vice Chancellor's Postgraduate International Excellence Award is a distinguished financial initiative designed to empower outstanding self-funded international students pursuing taught postgraduate degrees at Brunel University of London.

Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Must have an offer to study on a full time postgraduate taught or MRes programme starting in September 2026 or January 2027 of the 2026/27 academic year.
- Applicants must have a minimum UK 2:1 and above or equivalent internationally recognised undergraduate qualification.
- Must be classed as an Overseas fee-paying student based on the UK government regulations and be self-funded (not sponsored).
- This includes applicants from the EU who are required to pay overseas fees.
- Applicants who are unsure of their fee status should note Brunel uses the information they have provided in their application form to assess fee status against regulations set by the UK government.
- For information on these regulations please visit the independent organisation UKCISA’s website.
- All applicants must meet all conditions of their offer by the time they are due to register at Brunel.
- Applicants must pay their GBP 5,000 tuition fee deposit by the advisory deadline stated above in order to secure their fee reduction.
- Applicants who defer their entry from September 2026 to January 2027 (2026/27 academic year), will retain the award.
- Those not eligible for this award:
- Applicants NOT classed as Overseas for fee purposes, based on the UK government regulations or those with an unresolved fee status.
- Applicants who are not fully self-funded and are being sponsored by a Government or external body.
- Sponsored students are not eligible and must make themselves known to the Scholarship Team if they have been awarded a scholarship.
- The award is not available to Postgraduate Research applicants (i.e. PhD, MPhil), or applicants undertaking Pg Cert or PG Dip courses.
- The award is not available for Brunel Medical School courses, namely MSc Physician Associate.
- Applicants who will NOT commence their course in September 2026 or January 2027 (2026/27 academic year) and defer to 2027/28.
- Applicants entering a course with Brunel Pathway College (BPC) or who are progressing to a Brunel course from a BPC course.
- Applicants holding an offer to study by Distance Learning, part-time, online learning programme.

- Applicants who do not pay the course deposit of GBP 5,000 or where the funds have not been received by Brunel by the deadline of 31 August 2026 or 30 November 2026 will forfeit the fee reduction and the fee reduction will not be applied. Any eligible discount will be deducted from the remaining tuition fee upon registration.
- The Vice Chancellor’s Postgraduate International Excellence award cannot be combined with any other University scholarship, bursary, discount, or award, with the exception of the 2% prompt payment discount and the Graduate Discount.
- If a student changes to different mode of study, their eligibility for the award will be reviewed.
- A student who takes a period of temporary withdrawal (abeyance) and who is in receipt of a fee reduction would cease to receive payments whilst temporarily withdrawn.
- Should a student be suspended for any reason, payments will be withdrawn and consideration of reinstatement will be dependent on the disciplinary outcome.
- Students who have Government sponsorship, NHS Bursary funding, employer sponsorship or any other external sponsorship for part or all of the tuition fees are not eligible for this Award. If Admissions receive details of sponsorship after a Vice Chancellors award has been made, the Award will be removed.

- Fee waiver of GBP 6,000 of the first year of study
- The award does not replace the deposit of GBP 5,000. All applicants will need to pay the GBP 5,000 deposit for their course in order to formally receive the award.
