The Merit Scholarship recognizes students with academic excellence enrolling in Foundation, Diploma, or Degree programmes at TARUMT

Applicants must meet any of the following minimum academic requirement:

  • Diploma
    • SPM: 7As
    • IGCSE: 6As
  • Foundation
    • SPM: 5A
    • IGCSE: 6As
  • Degree:
    • UEC: 5As
    • STPM/A-Level: 1A
    • TAR UMT Diploma/Foundation: CGPA 3.75
    • Matriculation: CGPA 3.75
    • SAM/WACE/HSC: ATAR 90
    • CPU: 90% (for all subjects with a minimum of 6 subjects)
你需要注意的事项

重点

  • Recipient must get straight passes in all courses (including co-curriculum for Diploma) and maintenance requirements are based on scholarship quantum.

  • There shall be NO upward adjustment even if scholars obtained a higher CGPA threshold thereafter.

  • CGPA Maintenance differ according to quantum of fee waiver:

  • Diploma & Foundation:

    • 100% scholarship recipients: * CGPA 3.50 & above: Maintained as 100% * CGPA 3.25 - 3.4999: Adjusted down to 50% * CGPA 3.00 - 3.2499: Adjusted down to 25% * CGPA below 3.00: Scholarship withdrawn
    • 50% scholarship recipients: * CGPA 3.25 - 3.4999: Maintained as 50% * CGPA 3.00 - 3.2499: Adjusted down to 25% * CGPA below 3.00: Scholarship withdrawn
    • 25%, 20% & 15% fee scholarship recipients: * CGPA 3.00 & above : Maintained as 25%, 20% or 15% * CGPA below 3.00: Scholarship withdrawn

  • Undergraduate:

    • 100% scholarship recipients:
      • CGPA 3.50 & above: Maintained as 100%
      • CGPA 3.00 - 3.4999: Adjusted down to 50%
      • CGPA below 3.00: Scholarship withdrawn
    • 50% & below scholarship recipients:
      • CGPA 3.00 & above: Maintained as 50%/25%/20%
      • CGPA below 3.00: Scholarship withdrawn

Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT) has continually excelled with more than 57 years of academic excellence, producing more than 320,000 graduates who have gone on to become industry captains, professionals and leaders. The University name is synonymous with high quality education and vibrant student activities that go beyond education. TAR UMT’s main campus is located in KL with its five branches based in Penang, Perak, Johor, Pahang, Sabah.

TAR UMT Main Campus in Kuala Lumpur sprawls across an area of 171-acre. The campus is an iconic landmark for its architectural feat in blending historical buildings with modern structures as well as the verdant greenery. Meanwhile, the branch campuses in Penang, Perak, Johor and Pahang are purpose-built complete with state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities for learning and teaching.

TAR UMT offers programmes at pre-university, Diploma, Bachelor’s degree and Postgraduate levels that are widely recognised by the academia and industries for their depth and breadth of scope and academic rigor. Today, TAR UMT has a student population of about 35,000 including international students from more than 20 countries enrolling in more than 200  programmes over a wide range of disciplines from foundation and A Level to accountancy, finance, business, economics, engineering, built environment, applied sciences, Computer Science, ICT as well as mass communication, creative arts, social science and hospitality management.

These programmes are conducted by 7 faculties and 2 centre namely Centre of Pre-University Studies, Faculty of Accountancy, Finance and Business, Faculty of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Computing and Information Technology, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Faculty of Built Environment, Faculty of Communication and Creative Industries, Faculty of Social Science and Humanities and Centre for Postgraduate Studies and Research.

At TAR UMT, students have a wealth of opportunities to excel academically while enriching their overall learning experience. With access to over 100 diverse clubs, societies and uniformed groups, students can pursue their passions and interests beyond the classroom.
