- The Institute of Science and Management (ISM) in Tawau, formerly the Sabah Chinese Pre-University Centre, was established in 2000 to provide affordable higher education. Starting with 7 staff and 40 students in the Cambridge GCE 'A' Level programme, ISM has grown to 19 staff and 160 students across three programmes. Founded as a non-profit, it focuses on quality education at low cost, with plans for a new RM16 million building with modern facilities. Its strong academic record, affordable fees, and location in a medium-sized town make it an attractive option for students.

Pass with minimum 5 credits
Additional Requirements (for students pursuing the following courses after A-Levels:
- Medicine: 5 Bs in Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology. 2 Credits in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
- Dentistry and Pharmacy: 5 Bs in Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology. Pass in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
- Science: Minimum 5 credits (including Mathematics and a Science subject)
- Engineering: Minimum 5 credits (including Mathematics and a Science subject)
- Environment: Minimum 5 credits including Mathematics
- Healthcare Sciences: Minimum 5 credits which includes any 3 of Biology/Physics/Mathematics/Chemistry/English
