Full tuition fee waiver for duration of study
The MyBrainSc scholarship is open to Malaysians pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate studies in pure science fields, namely physics, chemistry, biology, and mathematics, at local or overseas institutions. This initiative by the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) supports the National Higher Education Strategic Plan (PSPTN) and seeks to nurture young scientists who are ready to embrace challenges and develop into globally competent scholars.

Applicants must not have received any scholarship, sponsorship, or binding agreement from any other sponsor.

Shortlisted applicants may be required to attend interview.

Undergraduate:
- Applicants must be under 21 years of age in the year of application
- Must obtain CGPA 3.60 and above in Foundation in Science, Matriculation, STPM, Diploma; OR
- A minimum score of 1180 out of 1600 on all SAT tests, 40 out of 45 in the International Baccalaureate (IB), or an overall grade of A in all A-Level subjects.
- Students must be in final semester
- Applicants that are currently pursuing a first-degree program must have at least 12 months of study remaining as of Semester 1, Session 2026/2027

Master:
- Applicants must not exceed 28 years of age in the year of application.
- Candidates must have obtained excellent results at the Undergraduate level (First Degree) in a pure science field, with a minimum CGPA of 3.75 or a First Class Honors degree. The study must have been completed via the full research mode.
- Candidates currently serving in the public or private sector must be prepared to resign from their positions if offered this scholarship.
- The Master program must be conducted via full-time research mode only.
- Candidates must currently be pursuing a Master’s degree or have secured a place to study in a pure science field, either locally or abroad, at a university listed and approved by the Ministry.
- Applicants currently enrolled in a Master’s program must have at least 12 months of study remaining as of Semester 1, Session 2026/2027.

PhD:
- Must not exceed 35 years of age during the year of application.
- Candidates must have obtained excellent results at the Master’s level. Additionally, must have achieved a minimum CGPA of 3.75 at the Undergraduate level (First Degree) or First Class Honors (or equivalent) in a field of pure science.
- Candidates must not be currently bound by any contract from previous sponsors, or the sponsor must be willing to release the candidate from the contract if this scholarship is awarded.
- Candidates currently working in the public or private sector must be prepared to resign if they are offered this scholarship.
- Candidates currently pursuing a Master’s degree will be considered, provided the mode of study is full-time research.
- Candidates currently pursuing a Ph.D. or those who have secured a placement in a pure science field (either locally or abroad) will be considered, based on the list of universities recognized by the Ministry.
- For applicants already enrolled in a Ph.D. program, they must have at least 12 months of study remaining as of Semester 1, Session 2026/2027.

- Applicants need to register as a system user.
- All supporting documents must be scanned (scan) from original documents in JPEG or PDF format. Documents must be uploaded (upload) in the application system.
- Applicants will undergo a screening test to assess their aptitude in pure science.
- Followed by evaluation based on the assessment of an appointed interview panel.
