Convertible education funding for Malaysian students

Program Ijazah Dalam Negara (PIDN) is a convertible education loan (Pinjaman Boleh Ubah - PBU) established to support students pursuing their first degree at local institutions. This loan is available to individuals enrolled in Public Universities, Premier Polytechnics, and Government-Linked Universities (GLU).

Scholarship Requirements

  • Open for Malaysian citizen
  • Candidates must be medically fit and free from chronic diseases, infectious, or conditions requiring ongoing treatments.
  • Applicants intending to study abroad must be free from chronic or infectious diseases and any conditions requiring ongoing treatment. They must be certified fit and capable of completing their studies.
  • Applicants and any of the parent must not be blacklisted or subject to legal action by JPA.
  • Applicants are not permitted to receive any form of financial aid or sponsorship from other institutions while pursuing the same degree level.
  • Must have Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or Sijil Vokasional Malaysia (SVM).
  • Candidates applying with SVM must obtained at least C in Bahasa Melayu and a passing grade for Sejarah.
  • Applicants must not exceed 23 years of age at the date of application.
  • Candidates from Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM) are eligible, with the exception of cadet officers.
  • Applicants must have successfully completed all academic modules with no history of failed or repeated subjects in any prior semester.
  • Candidates must not have undertaken any academic extensions prior to the date of application.
  • Applicants with pending or unapproved requests for a change of course from their respective universities are ineligible to apply.
  • Candidates must have started their degree studies before the scholarship deadline and attained the following CGPA:
    • Engineering Courses: CGPA 3.00
    • Courses other than Engineering: CGPA 3.30
  • Applicants must have at least 12 months of study remaining, excluding the current/latest semester.
  • Diploma students who have not yet received their first-semester results may apply using their final diploma results, provided they have a minimum CGPA of 3.30.

Award Details

This funding programme provides for full or partial loan repayment exemption based on the final Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA):

  • CGPA 3.75 - 4.00: 5% repayment
  • CGPA 3.50 - 3.74: 10% repayment
  • CGPA 3.00 - 3.49 without extension: 15% repayment
  • CGPA 3.00 & above with extension : 20% repayment
  • CGPA 3.00 & below or failed to complete studies: 100%
